Basketball Recap: Metcalfe County Takes a Loss

Metcalfe County lost against Green County back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Metcalfe County Hornets were dealt an 87-49 defeat at the hands of the Green County Dragons. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Dragons are ranked 14th).

Metcalfe County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Green County, their win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2.

Metcalfe County will welcome Russell County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Russell County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matches. As for Green County, they will challenge Larue County at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Larue County has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 198 points over their last three games.
