After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Poland Seminary, Chalker was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Harding Skippers as they made off with a 17-1 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Skippers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Tatum Hudak and Gabby Hromada made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hudak struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Hromada struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Hudak has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Hudak scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Hromada scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, Hromada posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Abby Grimm was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Ashcraft, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Chalker was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .706. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Chalker pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Harding, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
