Recap: GRACE Christian Eagles vs. Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs
The GRACE Christian Eagles entered their tilt with the Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. GRACE Christian came out on top against Wake Christian Academy by a score of 69-58 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Steven McLeod continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Phillips II, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Wake Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Berkley Coon, who scored 31 points along with five assists. Coon is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sully Caruso, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Wake Christian Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
GRACE Christian pushed their record up to 23-7 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Wake Christian Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. GRACE Christian will take on Cary Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. GRACE Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight games -- so hopefully Cary Christian likes a good challenge. As for Wake Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trinity Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wake Christian Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 66 points per game this season.
