Baseball Recap: Oakland Takes a Loss

Oakland fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Cookeville on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cookeville Cavaliers by a score of 4-2.

Asher Evans made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 1-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kris Richardson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Oakland's loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1.

Looking ahead, Oakland will be playing in front of their home fans against Hendersonville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cookeville, they will take on Tullahoma in a tournament on Tuesday. Cookeville is facing Tullahoma at the right time seeing as Tullahoma is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
