Baseball Game Preview: Oak Ridge Trojans vs. Del Oro Golden Eagles

Oak Ridge and Del Oro are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Trojans will take on the Golden Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Ridge is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Oak Ridge barely beat Archbishop Mitty the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans blew past the Monarchs 9-3 on Thursday.

Ben Ransi was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Oak Ridge's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-12 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jackson Molloy, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Oak Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Lincoln hit Del Oro with a five-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Golden Eagles lost 9-1 to the Trojans. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Golden Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Oak Ridge's record now sits at 9-12. As for Del Oro, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7.

Oak Ridge might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from Del Oro in their previous matchup last Thursday. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
