Softball Game Preview: Wolfe County Wolves vs. St. Francis Spartans

The Wolfe County Wolves will head out to face off against the St. Francis Spartans at 11:15 a.m. on Monday. Wolfe County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

Wolfe County barely beat Pikeville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Wolfe County's pitcher stepped up to hand Pikeville a 12-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Wolves have won four matches by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Chloy Creech, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Kenzie Miller also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, St. Francis got the win against DePaul College Prep on Thursday by a conclusive 7-0.

Wolfe County's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for St. Francis, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
