Basketball Recap: Humboldt Cubs vs. St. Paul Indians
Humboldt had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the St. Paul Indians 78-38. That's more bragging rights for the Cubs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Colden Cook went supernova for Humboldt, going 9 for 13 en route to 19 points plus six rebounds and four steals. Blake Ellis was another key player, going 5 for 7 en route to 11 points plus six steals.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Humboldt will face off against West Elk on Tuesday. As for St. Paul, they will take on Oswego in a tournament on Thursday.
