Softball Game Preview: North Marion Huskies vs. Brooke Bruins

The North Marion Huskies will head out to take on the Brooke Bruins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Marion has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, North Marion came up short against Bridgeport and fell 12-8.

Kinlee Hess made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brooke). Everything went their way against East Liverpool on Friday as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Potters recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Brooke let Jazymn Wood and Maggie Diserio run wild. Wood went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Diserio went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases Diserio has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emilee McKinney, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Brooke always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Brooke's win bumped their record up to 2-17. As for North Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
