Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Grant Polk and Jaylen Wills Lead St. Albans to Victory

St. Albans's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 77-68 victory over the Flint Hill Huskies. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 49th in District of Columbia, while the Huskies are ranked sixth in Virginia).

Leading St. Albans to victory were Jaylen Wills and Grant Polk. Wills went 12 of 21 on his way to 28 points, while Polk went 8 for 16 en route to 22 points and eight rebounds. The contest was Wills' 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of William Strong, who posted 12 points.

St. Albans is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.9 points per game. As for Flint Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

St. Albans will take on Georgetown Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Flint Hill, they will face off against Georgetown Day at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
