Football Recap: Lake Minneola Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Lake Minneola extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They had to suffer through a 49-6 loss at the hands of the Lake Gibson Braves. The Hawks lost against the Braves in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 14-7 score last time.

Gianni Barzotti threw for 100 yards and one TD. Scott Overton was his top target, picking up 80 receiving yards and one touchdown.

As for Lake Gibson, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Adonis Cuyler was nothing short of spectacular: he picked up 63 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 33 yards and one touchdown.

Looking ahead, Lake Minneola will head out to square off against Davenport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Hawks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Lake Gibson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Braves 9.5, the Dreadnaughts 11) so any points scored will be well earned.
