Baseball Game Preview: J.R. Tucker Tigers vs. Glen Allen Jaguars

J.R. Tucker is 0-10 against Glen Allen since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. J.R. Tucker will be strutting in after a win while Glen Allen will be coming in after a defeat.

J.R. Tucker is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Highland Springs with a sharp 10-3 victory on Wednesday. The Tigers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 16, 2024 (when they won 20-0).

Joey Noel and Caleb Wood made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Noel tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Wood tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, Noel posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At bat, Noel went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Wood went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That double was Noel's first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabriel Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Christian Barrett was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

J.R. Tucker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Glen Allen came up short against Cosby on Friday and fell 9-5.

Glen Allen's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for J.R. Tucker, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
