Softball Recap: Avon Falls Short of Center Grove in the Playoffs

Avon and Center Grove squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Avon had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Orioles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Addie Forst spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

The defeat snapped Avon's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-18 record. As for Center Grove, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-3.
