Basketball Recap: Raton Takes a Loss

Raton lost against Estancia back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Raton Tigers took a blow against the Estancia Bears, falling 51-23. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brook Eister was nothing short of spectacular for Estancia: she dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Eister a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Jhenna Valencia, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Raton's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Estancia, their record now sits at 12-10.

Raton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-26 defeat against Pecos on the 13th. As for Estancia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 44-30 loss against Tucumcari on the 11th.
