Softball Recap: El Dorado Triumphs

Sonora typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday El Dorado proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Raiders 1-0. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 1-0 win back in April.

Not much got past Emily Yoon, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Sonora off the board. Yoon has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Renay Chavez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

El Dorado is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Sonora, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-9 record this season.

As of now, neither El Dorado nor Sonora have any future games scheduled.
