Baseball Recap: Dock Mennonite Takes a Loss

Dock Mennonite dropped their record down to 12-4 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 10-0 to the Holy Ghost Prep Firebirds. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Pioneers were not able to get on the board.

As for Holy Ghost Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games.

For Holy Ghost Prep's part, Matt Riendeau made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Riendeau has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Eddie Rosado was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Colin Davis, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Coming up, Dock Mennonite will challenge Neshaminy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 3.2, the Skins 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Holy Ghost Prep, they will take on Central Bucks East at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
