Softball Recap: Miyamura Takes a Loss

After flying high against Santa Fe on Saturday, Miyamura came back down to earth. Miyamura lost 18-5 to the Farmington Scorpions on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Scorpions: they've now lost four in a row.

ALAYNA VIDAL was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Vinessa Largo was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

VIDAL wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Miyamura kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Miyamura's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Farmington, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season.

Miyamura will face off against Wingate at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Farmington, they will take on San Juan at 4:20 p.m. on Saturday. Farmington's pitchers better be ready for this one: San Juan has averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
