Mt. Vernon put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Centerville Big Reds/Redettes. Mt. Vernon's win was all the more impressive since the Big Reds/Redettes were averaging only 2.5 runs allowed on the season.

Mt. Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Centerville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Mt. Vernon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Albia on the 6th. As for Centerville, they will host Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
