Sidwell Friends picks up tenth straight win on the road

Recap: Sidwell Friends Quakers vs. Maret Frogs

On Tuesday, the Sidwell Friends Quakers faced the Maret Frogs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sidwell Friends took down Maret 62-44. The win was familiar territory for Sidwell Friends who now have three in a row.

Kendall Dudley was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Yoon, who scored 12 points along with three steals.

Maret's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was River Adams, who scored ten points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was London Liley, who scored seven points along with two steals.

Sidwell Friends' victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points per game. As for Maret, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sidwell Friends will take on Bullis at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Bullis is ranked fourth in Maryland, while Sidwell Friends is ranked second in District of Columbia). As for Maret, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Georgetown Visitation Prep at 4:15 p.m. on January 26th. Georgetown Visitation Prep is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
