Football Recap: Gaither's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

Gaither waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They strolled past the Tampa Bay Tech Titans with points to spare, taking the game 34-17. For the Cowboys, this counts as revenge for the 28-7 victory the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Gaither had a senior duo take command as Joshua Balloon rushed for 133 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries and Jacob Butler gained 122 total yards and two touchdowns. Those 133 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Balloon.

Gaither was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 228 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Gaither didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tamarkus Young and Butler. Gaither got some further help from Jacob Aquino: he picked up three sacks and made eight total tackles.

Although Tampa Bay Tech took the loss, they still got scores from Tyson Stroud and Jordyn Murray.

Gaither's record is now 4-1. As for Tampa Bay Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Gaither and Tampa Bay Tech should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Cowboys (ranked 48th) will meet Wesley Chapel (ranked 337th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay Tech will take on Spoto at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (29 vs. 322).
