Softball Recap: Bolivar Central Has No Trouble Against Fayette Ware

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bolivar Central). They were the clear victors by a 26-11 margin over the Fayette Ware Wildcats on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Leah Smith was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (two).

In other batting news, Katie Lax was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Isabella Lax was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1.

Bolivar Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fayette Ware only managed four hits.

Bolivar Central's record now sits at 4-0. As for Fayette Ware, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9.

Coming up, Bolivar Central will challenge Haywood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fayette Ware, they have already played their next matchup, a 15-1 defeat against Cordova on the 9th.
