After flying high against King's Fork on Tuesday, Great Bridge came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Hickory Hawks on Thursday. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

While Great Bridge ultimately came up short, they really made Hickory work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 12-25, 25-18, 25-12.

Arianna Vakhnin was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 13 digs and two assists. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven matches. Leila Falvo also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Great Bridge's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Hickory, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9.
