Baseball Recap: Rush Springs Comes Up Short

Rush Springs suffered their biggest defeat since March 1st on Monday. They came up short against the Luther Lions, falling 11-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Redskins of the 12-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2022.

Rush Springs saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in hits.

Rush Springs' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Luther, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

While Rush Springs had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
