Recap: Everton Tigers vs. Greenfield Wildcats
This season hasn't been kind to the Everton Tigers, who are still winless after their 20th match. They were dealt a 81-40 defeat at the hands of Greenfield on Tuesday. The defeat was just more heartbreak for Everton who fell 38-36 when the teams previously met back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Everton saw an underclassman step up: Josh Daniels dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. That was a full 52.5% of Everton's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Everton's loss was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-20. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.2 points per game. As for Greenfield, their victory bumped their record up to 2-18.
Everton will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenfield, they will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
