Baseball Game Preview: Green Valley Gators vs. Spring Valley Grizzlies

The Green Valley Gators will head out to take on the Spring Valley Grizzlies at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Green Valley has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Green Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Shadow Ridge, who was ranked 20th at the time (Green Valley was ranked 15th). The Gators fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 3-2 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Gators couldn't push the score so high this time.

Green Valley got a good showing from Grant Morris, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Morris has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Isaiah Alba was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Meanwhile, Spring Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 7-4 to Arbor View.

Spring Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12-2. As for Green Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

Green Valley took their victory against Spring Valley when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Grizzlies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
