Tri-County Academy dropped their record down to 22-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's 20-game streak of wins. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverfield Academy Raiders. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Rebels couldn't push the score so high this time.

Tri-County Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sawyer Pettit, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Grayson Rymer also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

As for Riverfield Academy, their record now sits at 7-5. The game was the first time they have beaten Tri-County Academy on their field since May 6, 2024.

On Riverfield Academy's side, Eli Corley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. Corley has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Layton Hough, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brett Herrington, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

As of now, neither Tri-County Academy nor Riverfield Academy have any future games scheduled.
