Fonda-Fultonville waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Wolves. The Valley Hawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17, 23-25, 25-13.

Fonda-Fultonville was led to victory by Gianna Ciaccio and Onaleah Egelston. Ciaccio had 13 aces, while Egelston had 18 kills, two aces, and one block. With that strong performance, Ciaccio is now averaging an impressive 3 aces per game. Sidnee Linart was another key player, getting six kills, four digs, and three aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Fonda-Fultonville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 25 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in five consecutive contests.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brooke Trumble, who had six kills, three digs, and three aces. Trumble is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Hinkle, who had seven kills and three aces.
Fonda-Fultonville's record now sits at 11-3-2. As for Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
