Basketball Game Preview: American Patriots vs. Blanche Ely Tigers

The American Patriots will take on the Blanche Ely Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in American's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matches.

American heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Wednesday. They fell 64-57 to Belen Jesuit. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Wolverines are ranked 88th).

American might have lost, but man, Angel Torres was a machine: he went 9 of 16 en route to 24 points and eight rebounds. With that strong performance, Torres is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Quincy Robinson, who went 5 for 11 to rack up 11 points.

Even though they lost, American was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Belen Jesuit only racked up four assists.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blanche Ely). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Atlantic 101-71. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Blanche Ely's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for American, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.
