Softball Game Preview: Greeneview Rams vs. Miami Trace Panthers

The Greeneview Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Miami Trace Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greeneview will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

If Greeneview beats Miami Trace with six runs on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Rams beat Northeastern on Monday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-3.

Gabbie Burkett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mya Simpson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Lilly Reichley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Miami Trace was able to grind out a solid victory over Washington on Thursday, taking the game 5-2. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Blue Lions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Greeneview's record now sits at 15-7. As for Miami Trace, their record is now 8-12.
