Basketball Recap: Rootstown Beats Fort Frye for Their 17th Straight Win

Rootstown had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Fort Frye Cadets 57-54. The Rovers are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 17 straight.

Leading Rootstown to victory were Colbie Curall and Nadia Lough. Curall made all 7 shots she took racking up 16 points along with six assists and six steals, while Lough shot 80% from the field en route to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lough has scored at least a third of Rootstown's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Bittecuffer, who posted seven points.

Rootstown's victory bumped their record up to 27-1. As for Fort Frye, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 21-5 record.

Coming up, Rootstown will face off against Columbus Grove at 2:00 p.m. on March 15th. Rootstown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.8 points per game this season. Fort Frye does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
