Volleyball Recap: San Jose Comes Up Short

San Jose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Gilroy Mustangs, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in April.

San Jose was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-23, 25-23.

San Jose's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Gilroy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-13.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. San Jose will face off against rival Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Gilroy is set to square off against their familiar foe Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Mustangs have won four straight at home, while the Acorns won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
