Softball Recap: Sudan Wins Going Away Against Olton

Sudan won the last time they faced Olton and things went their way on Saturday too. The Hornets blew past the Mustangs 19-3. Considering the Hornets have won eight matchups by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Haylee Toscano and Andrea Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Toscano scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Williams scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most runs Toscano has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kalissa Harris, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Sudan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .828. They are 12-1-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Sudan and bumps their season record up to 13-11-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.5 runs over those games. As for Olton, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Sudan wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-0 victory against New Deal on the 14th. As for Olton, they will take on Hale Center at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Owls will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
