Basketball Recap: Dakota Takes a Loss

Dakota lost against Pecatonica back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The match between the Dakota Indians and the Pecatonica Indians didn't end well, with the Dakota Indians falling 52-34. While losing is never fun, Dakota can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while Pecatonica is ranked 66th).

When it comes to explaining why Dakota lost, don't look at Finley Banks. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Dakota's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Pecatonica, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dakota has already played their next contest (against Pearl City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pecatonica has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Lena-Winslow.
