Basketball Game Preview: Rio Rancho Rams vs. Cleveland Storm

The Rio Rancho Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Cleveland Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rio Rancho will be strutting in after a win while Cleveland will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Rio Rancho turned things around against Piedra Vista on Thursday. They strolled past the Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 77-60. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Panthers are ranked 79th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cleveland unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They were dealt an 87-45 loss at the hands of Volcano Vista. The matchup marked the Storm's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Cleveland's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-6. As for Rio Rancho, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 12-8.

Rio Rancho didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Cleveland in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 60-54 win. Will Rio Rancho repeat their success, or does Cleveland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
