Softball Recap: Turners Falls Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Turners Falls took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Greenfield, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Thunder skirted past the Green Wave 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Thunder have posted since May 20, 2024.

Turners Falls pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Greenfield, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Turners Falls will head out to take on Hopkins Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Greenfield, they will venture away from home to challenge Hampshire Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Green Wave 2, the Raiders 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
