Basketball Recap: Wheaton Academy Takes a Loss

Wheaton Academy suffered their biggest defeat since December 19, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against the Christ the King Gladiators, falling 60-40. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Gladiators earlier this season, when they won 66-58.

Wheaton Academy's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 16-8. As for Christ the King, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Wheaton Academy and Christ the King should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Wheaton Academy (ranked 114th) will meet Marian Central Catholic (ranked 563rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Christ the King will face off against North Shore Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday up 281 places (140 vs. 421).
