Baseball Game Preview: Edwardsville Tigers vs. Waterloo Bulldogs

Edwardsville is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Waterloo is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tigers will host the Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Edwardsville's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Waterloo's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Edwardsville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Springfield on Saturday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Senators. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 16 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Waterloo beat Alton 4-1 on Saturday.

Waterloo is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Edwardsville, their victory bumped their record up to 24-9.
