Niobrara/Verdigre suffers 12th straight loss at home

This season hasn't been kind to the Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars, who are still winless after their seventh match. They fell 52-39 to Creighton on Saturday. Niobrara/Verdigre has struggled against Creighton recently, as their match on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Taylor Nilson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Creighton, scoring 28 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Nilson has scored at least 25% of Creighton's points. Another player making a difference was Charlie Rohrer, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Niobrara/Verdigre's defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Creighton, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.

Niobrara/Verdigre will face off against Wausa at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Wausa is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Creighton will be home for the holidays to greet Elgin/Pope John at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Elgin/Pope John presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Creighton in Nebraska (Elgin/Pope John is ranked 86th, while Creighton is ranked 261st).
