Baseball Game Preview: Teton Timberwolves vs. Malad Dragons

The Teton Timberwolves will head out on the road to take on the Malad Dragons at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Teton came up short against Snake River on Wednesday, falling 13-4. The Timberwolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Luke Nelson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ryne Cox, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Malad got themselves on the board against Snake River on Friday, but Snake River never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Panthers. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Dragons considering their one-run performance the match before.

Brady Showell made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Carter Carey was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Kyson Willie was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Malad always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Snake River only posted an OBP of .208.

Malad now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Teton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Teton couldn't quite finish off Malad in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can Teton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
