Softball Recap: San Dieguito Academy Has No Trouble Against Coastal Academy

San Dieguito Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Coastal Academy Stingrays 9-0 on Saturday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Lilly Besemer, who gave up just four hits to keep Coastal Academy off the board.

At the plate, Aubrey Early and Willow Wright did most of the damage at the plate: Early went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base, while Wright went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Early has posted since back in March. Emi Adams was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

San Dieguito Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coastal Academy only posted a batting average of .160.

San Dieguito Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Coastal Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-6.

As of now, neither San Dieguito Academy nor the Stingrays have any future games scheduled.
