Softball Recap: Azle Gets the Win

Azle never got on the board in their matchup last Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Springtown on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Springtown Porcupines 10-9. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Hornets' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Brynlei Taylor was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Ryann Baker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Taylor wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Azle lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Azle's victory bumped their record up to 2-3-1. As for Springtown, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Azle will square off against Boswell at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The last three games Azle has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Springtown, they will be playing at home against Pantego Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
