Baseball Game Preview: Fitch Falcons vs. South Kingstown Rebels

The Fitch Falcons will face off against the South Kingstown Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Fitch was able to grind out a solid victory over Stonington, taking the game 7-4.

Meanwhile, South Kingstown put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 4-1 win over East Providence. Four seems to be a good number for the Rebels as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Quinn Matos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, South Kingstown's win was truly a team effort as nine different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sam McLeod, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That run was McLeod's first of the season. Another was Jonah Monnes, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

The victory got Fitch back to even at 1-1. As for South Kingstown, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
