Great Valley took a 16-run defeat the last time they faced off against Oxford, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Patriots skirted past the Hornets 5-4. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 17-1 loss the last time these two teams met.
Sarah Yost was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
