Basketball Recap: IDEA Quest College Prep Takes a Loss

IDEA Quest College Prep suffered their closest loss since November 21, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Vanguard Academy Beethoven by a score of 56-53. The Trailblazers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Vanguard Academy Beethoven apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vanguard Academy Beethoven to victory, but perhaps none more so than Erik Cantu, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 17 points. Yandel Rosell was another key player, going 8 of 18 en route to 20 points.

This is the second loss in a row for IDEA Quest College Prep and nudges their season record down to 9-9. As for Vanguard Academy Beethoven, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. IDEA Quest College Prep will square off against IDEA College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vanguard Academy Beethoven, they will face off against IDEA Edinburg College Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. IDEA Edinburg College Prep will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Vanguard Academy Beethoven surely won't give up without a fight.
