Basketball Recap: Scotlandville Takes a Loss

Scotlandville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost to the Istrouma Indians on the road by a 59-42 margin. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 44-33.

It was another big night for Eryn Brown, who dropped a double-double on 44 points and 15 boards for Istrouma. Brown's evening made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kay'Lee Shepherd, who posted nine points and four steals.

Scotlandville's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Istrouma, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-6.

Scotlandville is taking a road trip to face off against Glen Oaks at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Istrouma, they will head out to square off against St. Helena College and Career Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
