Basketball Recap: Bad Axe Comes Up Short

Bad Axe has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Unionville-Sebewaing Patriots. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Hatchets came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Patriots are ranked 410th).

Bad Axe's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Unionville-Sebewaing, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bad Axe will challenge Laker at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Unionville-Sebewaing, they will take on Cass City at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Unionville-Sebewaing is facing Cass City at the right time seeing as Cass City is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
