Truman entered their tilt with Grain Valley on Wednesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since May 6, 2024.

Truman let Nich Dawson and Trevor Ottens run wild. Dawson scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Ottens scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Dawson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Deeney, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Truman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matches.

Truman's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Grain Valley, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
