Normal University has gone a perfect 8-0 against Lanphier recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Pioneers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Normal University has nine straight victories, Lanphier has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Normal University was able to grind out a solid win over Decatur Eisenhower, taking the game 2-0.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Normal University was: they took both sets by at least 17 points. The final score came out to 25-3, 25-8.

Meanwhile, Lanphier came up short against Sacred Heart-Griffin on Tuesday and fell 2-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-14.

Lanphier's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Normal University, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.

Normal University was able to grind out a solid win over Lanphier when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. Do the Pioneers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
