Basketball Game Preview: East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] vs. North Andrew Cardinals

East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] has gone a perfect 4-0 against North Andrew recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] will venture away from home to take on the North Andrew Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] came up short against Rock Port and fell 57-49. While losing is never fun, East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while Rock Port is ranked 158th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Lizzie Schlueter, who posted 16 points along with seven boards and four blocks. The game was her 11th in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rainy Nordhausen, who earned 11 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, North Andrew suffered their biggest defeat since January 21st on Tuesday. They took a blow against Rock Port, falling 64-37.

North Andrew's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax], this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.

East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] was able to grind out a solid win over North Andrew in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 51-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
