Football Recap: JC Bermudez Doral Comes Up Short

JC Bermudez Doral fell victim to Varela and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They were dealt a 38-0 loss at the hands of the Vipers. While losing is never fun, the Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Vipers are ranked 127th).

Varela found their leader in freshman Angelyn Molina, who threw for 176 yards and four TDs on only 13 passes. Molina's passing game has become a key predictor of the Vipers' success: the team is undefeated when her passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise.

JC Bermudez Doral's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Varela, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

As of now, neither JC Bermudez Doral nor the Vipers have any future games scheduled.
