Baseball Recap: Southwest Comes Up Short

Southwest and Springtown squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Southwest had to settle for second. They lost 11-0 to the Porcupines. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Raiders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Southwest's defeat dropped their record down to 10-18. As for Springtown, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10-1 record this season.

While Southwest had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
